Health hazard of digital sound
This is a big real problem in modern world.
You have been duped by Sony/Microsoft for years.
A stupid digital sound, (based on "sampling theorem" and Fourier math method), is not only simply INCORRECT, but also IS HAZARDOUS TO HUMAN'S HEALTH.
So-called "sampling theorem" is wrong. It is not even a "theorem", it is a so-called tautology - this is a well-known mathematical term from mathematical logic and theory of mathematical proofs.
Sony used this "theorem" to reproduce non-periodic signal - music. This approach of digital-to-analog conversion, storing and reproducing by Sony is squeezing of an entire musical spectra causing shifts of musical pitch. This is a kind of well-known phenomena called "jitter".
This leads to mental stress for a human, and later health hazard for entire body.
This is what Dr. Diamond' article about (and his books too) .
The mathematical proof of this phenomena is given in several scientific books in Russian. I explained it in forum threads on diyaudio.com - on links below.
I have published several articles on this matter since 1995-1999 in most well-known russian audio- and computer- magazines.

He wrote in 1985:
"...I have tested many thousands of phonograph recordings made over a period of more than eighty years, and have found that almost most examples have been therapeutic, often highly so.[3] In 1979 this changed. I suddenly found that I was not achieving the same therapeutic results as before, that playing records of the same compositions to the same patients was producing a completely contrary effect! Instead of their stress being reduced and their Life Energy being actuated, the opposite was occurring! For instance, music that I had long used to promote sleep now seemed to be actually aggravating the insomnia. I found in one case that instead of the music helping a patient withdraw from tranquilizers, it seemed to increase his need for them. Special tapes for businesspeople to use during their rest periods seemed suddenly to increase rather than reduce their stress. These findings were very alarming....."

Fraunhofer Institute received about 100 million USD each year as a royalty for MP3 for more than 15 years in a row.

The most of regular people can not properly detect non-linear
distortions in audio. This ability is given (by nature) to so-called
"audiophiles". Not all studio sound engineers are "audiophiles". Studio
sound engineers cen perfectly detect musical pitch - the tone. It is
called "golden ear" feature. But 90% of sound engineers can not detect
the intermodulation distortions in musical signal. Therefore sound
engineers miss the mad "digital revolution" in studios.
The job of elimination of digital distortions can be done by audiophiles
only. Each famous pro-audio equipment company has its own group of
audiophiles to review their final product's sound, because the
measurement equipment indicates zero distortions on tone (sine) signal,
but the output musical (polyphonical) signal always contains
intermodulation distortions, which cannot be properly measured.
The best experts are in API, Universal Audio and Neumann pro-audio companies, then Rupert Neve etc.
